Cassandra Missio

Experienced yoga teaching rooted in alignment, awareness, and heart.

I first discovered yoga in my early twenties while travelling and immediately felt its profound impact on my sense of grounding, clarity, and overall wellbeing. Returning to Sydney in 1997, I committed myself to regular practice and study, drawn to the way yoga supported me not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.

This personal experience continues to shape my teaching today. I offer classes that are grounded, intelligent, and deeply supportive — weaving together precise biomechanical alignment with heart-centred philosophy. My intention is to create practices that are both accessible and transformative, meeting students where they are while encouraging growth, awareness, and ease.

I undertook a 4.5-year teacher training apprenticeship at The Art of Yoga in Summer Hill in 2003, and in 2009 became a certified Anusara® Yoga teacher after many years of dedicated training. Over the past two decades, I have continued to deepen my studies with some of the world’s most respected teachers, including John Friend, Carlos Pomeda, Doug Keller and Bernie Clark.

Alongside my weekly classes, I have been holding retreats both locally and internationally for over 17 years. These retreats are a natural extension of my teaching — offering space to step away from daily life, reconnect, and experience the practices more deeply in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.

When I’m not teaching, I’m usually being an Uber mum to my two kids, out bushwalking, or ocean swimming — all of which keep me grounded and connected, and continue to inform the way I live and teach.

Through movement, breath, and stillness, my intention is to create spaces where students can cultivate greater awareness, freedom, and ease — not only on the mat, but in their everyday lives. I look forward to welcoming you to the studio soon.
