Yin Yoga Workshop on
Friday 7 December 2018
6.30pm – 8.30pm
Open yourself to the joy of summer
in our heart themed class.
In this two-hour soothing and contemplative Yin Yoga workshop we will balance the outward focus of summer’s fiery energy and open our hearts to the joy of the season.
In Yin Yoga we target our networks of connective tissue and go deeper than the superficial muscles. Poses are held for longer periods as we find stillness and apply gentle pressure to the fascia, creating space and freedom and reducing stiffness and soreness. Yin Yoga is a passive yet challenging practice that is also deeply calming of the nervous system. It is the perfect complement to Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga styles and is suitable for everybody. After this beautiful practice you will leave with deep feelings of calmness, harmony and connection between your body, mind and emotions.
Anusara® Yoga Immersions 2018
100 Hours of Transformative Yoga Practice
September to early December 2018
Earth and Sky Yoga Studio is offering a series of eight (8) Anusara yoga immersion weekend workshops starting in September 2018 through to early December 2018.
Anusara yoga immersions invite you to deepen your yoga practice on every level: develop and evolve your practice, dive into yoga philosophy, yogic physiology, pranayama and meditation. This rich and inspiring environment offers you a unique opportunity to experience the expansive qualities inherent in yoga. In this program we have the opportunity to form a kula (community of the heart) to delve deeply into the key elements of the Anusara yoga teachings. Working together you will feel how an open heart and inspired biomechanics can open possibilities in your practice and in your life.
These immersions will give you a solid working knowledge of the basic philosophy, principles and practice of Anusara yoga. Anusara is an elegant yet simple approach to hatha yoga with a strong focus on alignment and a highly sophisticated philosophy and practice. Through Anusara yoga you will learn clear, safe and applicable principles of alignment.
Over eight weekends we will teach you to integrate the key elements of the Anusara teachings into your practice, and how to integrate yoga into your own life more fully. The immersions are also the prerequisite first step towards Anusara certification and establishes a solid foundation from which to skilfully share Anusara yoga.
The perfect opportunity to experience a more advanced practice – open to anyone who wishes to enrich their own practice and understanding of yoga and perfect for current teachers interested in refreshing their teaching skills and looking for new inspiration.

Cassandra first came to yoga in her early twenties whilst travelling. She knew after her first class that she had stumbled upon a very powerful and potent discipline that left her feeling grounded and clear. She has been teaching yoga for 15 years and began her training in 2002 by undertaking a traditional teacher mentoring apprenticeship at The Art of Yoga in Summer Hill.
She has continued to develop her practice and teaching skills studying on numerous occasions with the founder of Anusara yoga, John Friend and many of his senior teachers. She has studied regularly with meditation and philosophy teacher Carlos Pomeda and Yoga Therapist Doug Kellar. After many years of refining her teaching, Cassandra became a certified Anusara yoga teacher in 2009. She teaches a wide range of classes from beginners to advanced as well as more specialised restorative and prenatal classes. She has many dedicated students who have been attending her classes for over 10 years. She has also established a busy private practice and teaches many one-on-one yoga therapy sessions per week.
She is inspired to offer teacher training at Earth and Sky Yoga Studio as her part in helping maintain high standards and integrity in the teaching of yoga.
In the Anusara tradition, Cassandra’s teaching style weaves precise bio-mechanical alignment and heart centred philosophy with the intent to offer an experience of freedom and lightness to the body and the heart!
