Yoga from a young age is a fun way for children to develop physical health and well-being by building self-awareness, strength and flexibility for the mind and body. Each week we will focus on a different theme. Classes are structured around different themes such as: friendship, empathy and confidence. Unlike other sports, yoga is practised in a nurturing, non-competitive environment which allows children to relax, have fun whilst developing coordination, communication skills, balance, as well as increasing body awareness.
The skills children learn on the mat can serve them well in their everyday life as they learn tools to handle emotions, anxieties and everyday stresses. Regular yoga practice is beneficial for all aspects of childrens' lives, especially learning to be present in a moment, helping to improve concentration and participation in schooling.
